5 Reasons to Show Up for Your Brand
Last week I talked about how I built my first brand on collaborations. But this was only one piece of the puzzle. I also built my first company on something else.
I started and built my first company, Bump Club and Beyond, based on one thing: My life as a mom. I showed up and shared EVERYTHING. In doing so, I CONNECTED with others who were going through the same things. I connected with them and then they showed up as our customers. At the time I didn't realize I was even doing this.
When you show up for your brand---on social media, in emails, at events, on your blog there is a VERY important reason in doing so: CONNECTION.
Today, I am doing the same right here---showing up and sharing my life as an entrepreneur---who also happens to be a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, and so much more. Whether you're a personal brand or a corporate brand or even if your personal brand has grown bigger than you---showing up or having a group of people connect with your community is KEY. WHY...?
People want to buy from people. Having a personal element to your brand is the easiest way to build a connection and earn the trust of your community. Ultimately many of these people, if they are a fit, will naturally turn into customers.
When you connect with people on a similar level you are building a long lasting relationship---and ultimately these people will become lifelong customers.
When you show up and share HONESTLY, as yourself, you're giving your brand something unique...you're giving your brand a SOUL. Doing this brings brand values and ideals to life.
When you show your vulnerability, you are earning the trust of your community. You are showing yourself as a human and no human is perfect. You MUST fail in order to succeed and it's not only ok, but important to share.
When you show up, you give your community a reason to show up. When they know they are going to MEET a person---at an event, online, wherever, they don't want to let that person down. And so your community shows up too.
When you show up and share yourself, you’re giving your community reason to share themselves back. When this happens, naturally many of these connections turn into lifelong customers.
