Midwestern Women Making History

Its Women's History Month and TODAY is International Women's Day! We celebrate women making history every day, but here today to elevate some incredible women making history RIGHT now in our backyard is award-winning entrepreneur and host of the podcast Dear FoundHer..., Lindsay Pinchuk.

Over the last two years we've seen many women pivot and shift not only taking on the many roles needed to keep their life and their families lives moving in the right direction, but we've also seen more women embraching the flexibility the pandemic provided as a vehicle to achieve their own dreams. We have some Midwestern based female founders making history as we speak.


1. The Mom Project: Supporting working moms in every way imaginable, this company is changing the way that women are approaching work...and changing the conversation for how employers are viewing their hiring process. Founded by Allison Robinson, her goal was to get moms back into the work force after they took parental leave. She's raised over $80M to build an online platform that helps connect female candidates to employers with open roles.

2. Codeverse: Co-Founded by Katy Lynch, Coverse is an Award winning platform teaching kids how to code. Easy to use tools help kids age six and up build apps through coding. This company is teaching kids how technology works and to bring kids ideas to life through coding.

3. Simple Mills: Katlin Smith, founder and CEO of Simple Mills, wowed her first buyer with a muffin recipe using almond flour. Now the Chicago-based natural baking brand is the category leader in baking mixes and crackers. Clean nutritious foods for a better life.

4. AYO Foods: Perteet Spencer, Co-Founder of AYO Foods, is bringing West African cuisine to the frozen food industry.

5. The Real Good Life: Based in Wauwatosa, made from scratch meals delivered straight to your door. Maggie Joos created Milwaukees best meal delivery service.

6. Pocketnest: Jessica Willis created an app which uses behavioral science and psychology to coach users on how to budget for their lives.
