Favorite Parenting Apps

With parents being pulled in every direction these days, don’t you wish there was an “app for that?”  More than likely, there is.  I recently stopped by FOX6 Now Milwaukee to share some of my favorite apps that make my life as a parent that much easier.

Don’t get me wrong, I use many of the usual suspects: Instacart, Target Curbside Pickup, SpotHero (great for parking in urban environments), Venmo, etc. BUT, there are also some amazing apps that solve problems that you didn’t even realize you had. Check these out:

ParentPal, free trial and then $12.99/month or $69.99/year:

This is the app that I wish I had when my kids were smaller, which is why I wanted  to make sure to share it.  I was always really bad at playing with my kids—-I never knew what to do with them or how.  But ParentPal is designed to give parents evidence-based ideas and options for building meaningful, age-appropriate play into each day. It tacks milestones, give you daily plans and more. With ParentPal, parents have access to flexible tools and expert guidance that can help ease the guesswork of first-time parenting.

Artkive, pricing varies based on product:  Preserve your children’s art work through this amazing app.  They’ll send you a sturdy box that’s insured.  You send it back filled with the art work.  Artkive photographs it for you in their studio and then you can make it in to art books or framed mosaics.  If you’re anything like me—-we have multiple projects coming home every day….so this app helps to declutter and preserve.

Chatbooks:,  Hands down the easiest way to make and print a photo book straight from your phone. From Instagram and Facebook books that connect right to your social media and print them out, to Monthbooks starting at just $10—-Chatbooks is the easiest way to take your pictures off your phone and print them old school—-and for you and your family to enjoy.  Also—-a GREAT gift for your tweens and teens for the holidays.

Bark, starting at $14.99 per month: Bark monitors content, manages screen time, and filters websites on your kids’ devices. Get alerts for issues like bullying, predators, sexual content, and more.  Bark was created by parents, for parents to offer a better, easier, and more effective way to keep children safe online.

Headspace, $12.99 per month: Headspace has one mission: to improve the health and happiness of the world through meditation.  With long and short forms, and meditation designed to help focus, sleep and even for kids—-this has been a savior in my home, especially during times of anxiety and bedtime refusal.

Peanut: As many know, I am all about community.  Peanut gives a new and improved way to find it.   Peanut provides a safe space for mothers, expectant mothers and those trying to conceive to build friendships, ask questions and find support.  Peanut provides access to a community of women who are there to listen, share information and offer valuable advice.
